This course is designed for anyone working within the Oil and Gas, Power Generation, Petrochemical, Engineering, Installation, Maintenance and Renewables sectors and is also useful for Managers, Supervisors and Operatives including contractor personnel.
Learning Outcomes
The course covers the following areas so the learner will:
• Have an awareness of Health & Safety legislation, regulations and safe working practices and procedures
• Understand the safe use of tools and equipment in different working environments
• Understand the safe working practices and safe solutions to problems and emergencies
• Be aware of their personal site safety responsibilities

• Health & safety legislation including different stakeholder responsibilities
• Approved codes of safe practice
• Consequences of poor safety practices
• Risk assessments, method statements, permit to work systems, local procedures and safe systems of work
• Hazards, risks and procedures
• Fire Safety, Manual Handling, working at height, tools and equipment, confined spaces, hazardous substances, lifting operations, asbestos/radiation and site traffic
• Dangers of slips, trips and falls
• Types of signs and warnings
• Environmental issues
• PPE requirements
• Incident reporting
• Attitudes & behaviours
• Mental Health & equality
• Minimising risks from different hazards
The course contains of theory-based learning. There will be a written assessment conducted and assessed by the instructor to ensure competency has been achieved. ]
Upon successful completion, the candidate will be issued with certification by the ECITB, valid for 3 years.

FAQ's
What do I need to bring with me?
On day one of the course, you will be expected to bring a form of photographic ID with you. Suitable forms include a driver’s license and/or passport, and you will need to bring 2 passport style photos.
What accreditation will I receive?
Those who successfully pass, will receive a temporary CCNSG Safety Passport. You permanent card can take up to 10 working days to arrive to your home address.
All courses, delegates are assessed continually and will need to complete 4 multi-choice assessments, spread throughout the 2-day course. If completing the 1-day Renewal course, then 2 multi-choice assessments need to be completed.
How long does the certificate last?
Your Safety Passport will last for 3 years. Delegates will need to sit the renewal or Test Only renewal before the expiry date.
Is there any funding for this course?
Those who pay into the ECITB levy, may be able to recover the course fees. Please do check with ECITB before buying this course.

How many people will be on the course?
There will be a maximum of 12 people on this course, and a minimum of 3. This is to make sure you receive the quality of training we pride ourselves on giving.
What time does the course start and finish?
The course starts at 0900 and aims to finish between 1530-1600
Do I need PPE?
No PPE is required.
What is included in the price?
All course materials, and a light lunch* is included in the price.

How long does it take for certification to arrive?
Your CCNSG Safety Passports can take up to 10 working days to arrive to your home address.
