All employees who are working or looking to work in a supervisory capacity.

Learning Outcomes

The course covers the following areas so the learner will:

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a supervisor
  • Be able understand Safety, Health and Environment Legislation and the legal duties they have
  • Be able to put into place safe systems of work and understand what they involve
  • Learn how to prepare a team for work with a pre-team brief
  • Learn how to monitor the team safely

Modules will cover

  • Supervisors’ role and responsibilities
  • Management of SHE in the workplace
  • Effective site supervision, plan and organising work
  • SHE legislation, legal duties and control of hazards
  • Leading, motivating and monitoring the individual and the team
  • Accidents, incidents, near misses and reporting
  • CDM and temporary works
  • Safe systems of work: risk assessment and method statement process and completion
  • Pre-work briefs and setting to work onsite
  • Supervision and monitoring work
  • Post-work briefs and lessons learnt
  • The role in the context of site supervision

The course contains theory-based learning. There will be a written assessment conducted and assessed by the instructor to ensure competency has been achieved.

Upon successful completion, the candidate will be issued with certification by the ECITB.

What do I need to bring with me?

On day one of the course, you will be expected to bring a form of photographic ID with you. Suitable forms include a driver’s license and/or passport.

What accreditation will I receive?

Those who successfully pass, will receive a virtual ECITB Certificate.

How long does the certificate last?

Your certification will last for 3 years.

Is there any funding for this course?

Those who pay into the ECITB levy, may be able to recover the course fees. Please do check with ECITB before buying this course.

How many people will be on the course?

There will be a maximum of 12 people on this course, and a minimum of 3. This is to make sure you receive the quality of training we pride ourselves on giving.

What time does the course start and finish?

The course starts at 0900 and aims to finish between 1530-1600

Do I need PPE?

No PPE is required.

What is included in the price?

All course materials, and a light lunch* is included in the price.

How long does it take for certification to arrive?

Your certificate can take up to 10 working days to arrive to your home address.

When will I receive my joining instructions?
